Russian President Medvedev’s three-day visit to Armenia

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, accompanied by his wife and representatives of the Russian government, arrived in Yerevan on August 19 on a state visit to cement the Russo-Armenian military alliance with a new defence agreement. During his visit he also took part in unofficial summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO).

One Day with My Friends: The International Youth Day was celebrated in Vanadzor

In the framework of Peace Dialogue's three-year strategy “See Who We Are, Choose Who We Want To Be”, a photo-exhibition and concert, dedicated to international youth day, were organised in Vanadzor on August 11. The exhibition and concert were the culmination of the “One Day with My Friends” project that aimed to stimulate peace building activism among the community youth. The activities were especially designed to empower youth for mobilizing their peers. The goal was to study interests, concerns and the potential of Vanadzor youth, using photos as a tool to determine this. Furthermore, a space for creative self-realisation and further involvement in activities of Peace Dialogue was created.

We strongly condemn this vicious attack and we urge the South Ossetian de facto authorities to thoroughly investigate the incident and hold those responsible to account.

South Ossetian peace activist victim of violent assault

Last Saturday peace activist Timur Tskhovrebov was attacked and battered in the streets of Tskhinvali. Tskhovrebov, who runs the publishing company of the newspaper ‘The 21rst Century’, was assaulted in broad daylight on July 24th around 13.00 o’clock. As a patriot аnd passionate advocate of dialogue between South Ossetia and Georgia, he recently signed a joint Georgian-Ossetian declaration.
