Seeds of Peace Africa International (SOPA) is a Kenyan initiated organization committed to breaking the cycle of violence by transforming the children and young people into agents of peace. SOPA does this by actively engaging and training children and youth in non-violent conflict resolution mechanisms and imparting in them life-support skill. SOPA International uses sports and sporting spirit to engage the youth in conscientious self realization. Through sports children and young people learn to cooperate, appreciate social norms and the rule of the law, respect for one another, positive competition, non-violent conflict transformation mechanisms, sportsmanship and self-discipline. The use of sports enable us to enhance the growth of individual persons and the groups. In summary the sports enhance growth in the following areas:

All these are intended to facilitate an integrated development of these young people. Ultimately, we hope to get out of them responsible citizens ready and willing to contribute positively to the well-being of the general society. The intended peace and sports programme is an extension of what SOPA International does in Kenya with street children and youth from Korogocho Slums in Nairobi.
