We visit and speak with first-hand actors: politicians, European institutions, historians and NGO activists. You will also learn a lot from engaging with your fellow participants during group discussions and reflection. The tentative dates of the study visits in 2010 are:
• Kosovo– 5-10th of May • The Netherlands and Brussels– 10-16th of October
Definite dates are set depending on funding.
The OFEI exchange furthermore consists of
Preparatory meetings Before study visits and the organization of lectures and activities preparatory meetings take place. Before each study visit you read articles and give a presentation about a certain topic to your fellow Dutch participants. For the cultural evening during the first study visit you will together prepare a short presentation on The Netherlands.
Activities/street actions during study visits During each study visit you will together organize a public activity.
Media outreach Participants set out to reach 2 media each, e.g. university papers and regional newspapers. In this fashion you spread your experiences and knowledge gained. Your ideas for reaching media will be detailed in your personal action plan.
Group activity and peer-to-peer lectures After the study visits you give 3 lectures back in your home country, e.g. at your university. You also organize a cool activity in The Netherlands together with your fellow Dutch participants. Your ideas for peer-to-peer lectures and a group activity will be detailed in your personal action plan.
