Lokichoggio, Oropoi and Kakuma Development Organization (LOKADO) is an implementing agency in Lokichoggio, Oropoi and Kakuma, Kenya. And operates programs to address social economic disparities and check the rampant cross-border violence and insecurity, so as to allow the peaceful co-existence and better cross border utilization of pastoral resources. This ranges from management on sustainable livelihoods in Kakuma, Oropoi and Lokichoggio divisions and other neighboring and bordering communities in Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia. It carries out long-range development projects that positively contribute to the lives of people and the welfare of communities. Regionally, LOKADO operates programs in Peace building and conflict resolution in the bordering nomadic districts in Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan. LOKADO has short history of working in its area of operation since it was just initiated and registered under Kenya government act of social services on 23rd October 2003. LOKADO responded to forestall unrest where the community was in a popular uprising of clashes with neighboring communities.

 

LOKADO is responsible for implementing Peace and security, appropriate basic education to the nomads, HIV/AIDS awareness campaign, water resource development and sanitation, micro enterprise development schemes, livestock and management, environmental protection and management, food security, tourism and outreach primary health care.
