One year after the Convention on Cluster Munitions
03.12.2009 - High-level representatives from 130 countries attending the Cartagena Summit on a Mine-Free World should redouble efforts to rid the world of antipersonnel landmines and cluster bombs, as well as pledge their support to assisting victims and upholding disability rights, a global group of disarmament, humanitarian and human rights organisations said today, marking the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on 3 December.

Dutch former ministers appeal for a nuclear free world
26.11.2009 - Former Prime Minister of the Netherlands Ruud Lubbers is leading a socalled 'Gang of Four' to advocate for a nuclear free world. Max van der Stoel, former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hans van Mierlo, former Minister of Defense and of Foreign Affairs and Frits Korthals Altes, former Minister of Justice wrote an article in NRC Handelsblad of 23 November.

02.11.2009 - World leaders get church backing on nuclear disarmament. Four umbrella organisations of churches have sent a joint statement to worldleaders President Obama, Dmitry Medvedev and the highest representatives of NATO and EU.
Last week also at the Vatican a meeting was held on nuclear arms.
